Winter/Spring 2025 Registration Information

The Winter/Spring Recreation Guide features classes scheduled from January to May. Check back often as new programs are added as they become available.

Key dates:

At LARPD, we strive to ensure a physically and emotionally comfortable environment, encourage fun and excitement, and provide a safe place where everyone is welcome to socialize and interact with their peers.

Building Foundations of Caregiving 

Alzheimer’s Association   

Understand the key aspects of caregiving—learn how dementia changes relationships over time, the benefits of person-centered care approaches, how to create a supportive care team, and steps to identify and manage caregiver stress. Estate Planning

We will review the primary options for creating an estate plan, including trusts, wills, financial, and health care power of attorney. We will also review what a Will is and how it works versus how a Trust works.   • It gives information about appointing an agent, end-of-life decision-making, and the POLST form.

Gillig Bus Manufacturing Tour

LARPD Staff

Meet at the Gillig Bus Manufacturing headquarters for a FREE insider tour of the 600,000-square-foot plant in Livermore.

On your one-hour guided tour, you'll walk and pause for narration as you loop through the enormous manufacturing plant, viewing each assembly station as you go.

From initial design through final assembly, each heavy-duty transit bus is designed and built in America, recycling tax dollars back into the Livermore community to further support public transportation.

This is a secure facility with the following requirements:

  • Participants must pre-qualify in the Gillig system to receive an invite to be badged for their visit.
  • Watch the safety video, wear the provided safety glasses, and wear closed-toe shoes. 

Necessary information will be emailed to all participants before the event date.

Resource and Referral

The Senior Services office serves as an information and referral source if you have questions or need help with (for example) the following:

  • Defining various levels of housing and placement needs
  • Medicare and Medi-Cal details
  • Legal aid
  • Health Care Directive information
  • Financial emergencies

Senior Lunch Daily at RLCC (age 60+)

  • Monday-Friday from 12:00-1:00 p.m., 4444 East Avenue, Livermore
     
  • For reservations, please call 925-500-8241 by 1:00 p.m. the day before.

The Open Heart Kitchen Senior lunch program held at the Robert Livermore Community Center is offering a sit-down meal service Monday through Friday.  Senior Meals are offered in a congregate seating style.
