Volunteer Program Mission Statement:

Provide meaningful volunteer opportunities that enhance our parks and programs, foster community engagement, and cultivate a skilled future workforce.

The Livermore Area Recreation and Park District is actively seeking volunteers to assist with our programs, services, and community special events.

1.  Create an account by submitting the General Volunteer Application Form

2. Volunteers who are under 18 years of age require parent/guardian consent. Upload the Youth Waiver to your volunteer profile by logging into your account on MyImpactpage.com  Select [MY PROFILE], [Additional Info], [Upload Files to Volunteer Profile]. 

  • Volunteers must be age 13+  unless approved in advance by the event supervisor. 

3. Once you have submitted an application, you may log in to your LARPD volunteer account on MyImpactpage.com. You can also download our phone app through this LINK.

4. Select the [Opportunities tab] and sign up for a Volunteer opportunity by clicking the [+ Sign Up] or [Signup for Selected] button (App).

CURRENT VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITES 
Valentine’s for Seniors (1/14-2/7) 
Heart-shaped sign encourages creating Valentine cards for seniors in the community.

Let's spread some LOVE to the senior citizens in our community! 

This volunteer opportunity is to create "Valentine Cards" for the senior community. The cards will be handed out during the Senior Lunch Service at Robert Livermore Community Center and to Spectrum Meals on Wheels program participants. If supply allows, we will share with local senior housing locations in Livermore.

Each person that signs up is tasked with making 10 valentines.

You may create/design your Valentine’s cards using any materials you like (no materials will be provided). Please keep it positive; the goal is to spread love to our seniors! 

This activity will count for 1.5 hours of Community Service.

PLEASE COMPLETE BY 2/7/25

Completed Valentine's cards must be dropped off on or before Friday, 2/7/2024, at the Robert Livermore Community Center, 4444 East Avenue, between 8:30 a.m. and 6 p.m., M-Thurs and 8:30 am and 5 pm Fridays.

There will be a drop-off box located in the main lobby of the Community Building. Please include your name when dropping off the cards so we can credit you for community service hours if desired.

Spring Egg-Stravaganza (4/19) 

We are looking for volunteers to help out with our Egg-Stravaganza event on Saturday 4/19 at Sycamore Grove Park. We are looking to fill the following jobs:

Sycamore Grove: Open Space Volunteer Days - Ongoing 

Upcoming Date:

  • February 15th, 2025

SIGN UP TO VOLUNTEER

Join the LARPD Rangers for a volunteer work day in the park every third Saturday of the month. From removing invasive plants to litter pick-ups to trail maintenance, volunteers will help maintain Sycamore Grove Park as a beautiful and healthy place for visitors and wildlife.

Participants will hike out into the park, possibly going off trail.

Please dress for being outdoors; sun protection and layers are recommended. Bring water as well! If you have gloves, please bring them. Otherwise, we have some spares we can provide.

Ages 14 and older.  Individuals and groups are welcome. 

May contain: clothing, shorts, glove, art, collage, plant, vegetation, person, footwear, shoe, hat, t-shirt, soil, adventure, hiking, leisure activities, nature, outdoors, accessories, and glasses

Thank you for your interest in volunteering at the Native Gardens at Sycamore Grove Park!  Our gardens highlight plants native to our area and their incredible ecological and cultural connections.  We are always happy to have volunteers help out around the garden, regardless of their experience with gardening and/or native plants.  Tasks change seasonally and include:

  • Weeding
  • Leaf Removal
  • Mulching
  • Planting
  • Seed Collecting
  • Pruning

We will provide volunteers with tools and gloves to work in the garden, but volunteers are more than welcome to bring their own tools and gloves.

Neighborhood Park Ambassador - Ongoing 

Description of duties:

  • You can visit any Livermore Park(s), pick up litter where needed, and report observations, including noting any necessary repairs.
  • As an NPA, you can choose your own schedule. Please log your volunteer hours to help us keep track of them.
  • Please download the MyImpact app on your phone to report observations and log in and out for hours: https://support.betterimpact.com/siteguide/my-impact-app/

Schedule: Self-scheduled, one hour per week minimum
