Extended Student Services (ESS)
About ESS (Extended Student Services)
Livermore Area Recreation and Park District's Extended Student Services (ESS) is a licensed child development program serving children TK through fifth grade in Livermore.
ESS provides an enriching curriculum developed by staff and children using Project Based Learning. This method of learning identifies children's interests based on what they want to learn, what they already know, and how it all fits together with active, hands-on experiences.
KidzLit and KidzMath, created by the Developmental Studies Center for after-school programs, are fan favorites along with NPAS Science Activities, developed specifically for afterschool programs by The Education Development Center, Inc. to provide engaging STEM activities.
Outdoor time offers interest areas for children, including investigating insects, group games to enhance sportsmanship, music and movement, soccer, basketball, and kickball, among others. For those who enjoy a calmer outdoor time, reading, drawing, music, and chalk art are available, along with free-choice activities.
