About the Parks, Recreation and Trails Master Plan
LARPD is updating its Parks, Recreation, and Trails Master Plan—a strategic blueprint that will guide the maintenance, improvement, and development of parks, trails, facilities, and recreation programs over the next 10 years.
This Master Plan is a community-centered vision for Livermore’s future recreational spaces, helping LARPD define its role in providing parks, recreation, trails, and open space while preparing for the community's evolving needs.
This document aims to:
- Establish a clear vision and goals for LARPD’s parks, programs, and facilities.
- Develop a regional approach to recreation and park management.
- Respond to changes in housing and community density, planning spaces where people live, gather, and play.
- Provide a foundation for future funding strategies, grant applications, and capital investment.
- Ensure parks, trails, and programs remain accessible, inclusive, and enjoyable for everyone.
Community Outreach and Engagement
Community input helped shape the Master Plan through a community survey, workshops, pop-up outreach events, stakeholder discussions, and public Board meetings.
