Dog Park Rules

May contain: grass, plant, animal, canine, dog, golden retriever, mammal, pet, and lawn

For the enjoyment and safety of all dog park users, participants will be required to understand and follow the Livermore Area Recreation and Park Districts Dog Park Rules while utilizing one of our dog parks. The Livermore Area Recreation and Park District is not responsible for any injury or illness that occur or arise to dog(s) or their owners by participating in one of our District dog parks.

  • It shall be unlawful for any person to bring an unlicensed dog(s) into any District dog park. A valid license tag must be worn by the dog(s) at all times.
  • It shall be unlawful for any person who brings a dog(s) into any District dog park to leave the enclosed/designated area without their dog(s). Any person charged with the control of said dog(s) must remain in the enclosed/designated area and monitor and control the dog(s).
  • It shall be unlawful for any person to knowingly bring into any District dog park any sick, diseased or infected animal(s).
  • It shall be unlawful for any person to bring into, or allow to remain in any District dog park, any animal that is in heat.
  • It shall be unlawful for any person to bring into, or allow to remain in any District dog park, any animal that is not a dog.
  • It shall be unlawful for any person to bring into, or allow to remain in any District dog park, any animal that cannot be kept under voice control. These rules may not apply to a dog with visual or hearing disabilities. Accommodations may be made on a case-by-case basis for the use of visual or hearing disabilities which may include visual cues or assistant technology like an electric collar, in place of audible signals. Regardless of the method, all conditions of voice control must be met.
  • It shall be unlawful for any person to have more than two (2) dogs in any District dog park at any one (1) time.
  • Any person charged with the control of any dog(s) in any District dog park must have in their possession, at all times, a leash for each dog and must be presented upon request from any District Park Ranger, law enforcement, or animal control officer. Failure to do so shall be a violation of this section.
  • It shall be unlawful for any person aged twelve (12) years or younger to be in any District dog park unless accompanied by an adult.
