Livermore, CA – Livermore Area Recreation and Park District (LARPD) and Valley Humane Society are proud to announce Oreo, a Siberian Husky, as the 2025 Livermore Ambassadog. This partnership highlights both organizations’ shared commitment to animal welfare and a dog-friendly community in Livermore.

Oreo, who joined her family in 2020, is known for her playful energy and friendly nature. She enjoys Sycamore Grove, Alden Lane Nursery, and has become a familiar face at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory (LLNL), where she participates in virtual meetings and events.

“We are thrilled to see Oreo take on this role,” said Melanie Sadek, Valley Humane Society President. “Oreo embodies the values of compassion and companionship that guide our work, and we look forward to her contributions to our community.”

This appointment continues the collaboration between LARPD and Valley Humane Society, which works to improve the lives of companion animals in the Tri-Valley. Valley Humane Society’s mission to strengthen the bond between people and pets aligns with LARPD’s goal to create welcoming spaces for animals and their families.

“We’re excited for Oreo to represent Livermore as the 2025 Ambassadog,” said Andrea McGovern, LARPD Community Outreach Coordinator. “Oreo’s energy and love for outdoor spaces make her a perfect fit for this role, and we look forward to her participation in local events.”

The 2025 Livermore Ambassadog program was made possible through the support of the community and Valley Humane Society’s annual fundraiser, Tails at Twilight.
