Where is LARPD located? 

LARPD's main district office is at the Robert Livermore Community Center located at 4444 East Ave. Livermore, CA 94550. 

 

What are your business hours? 

The Community Center Hours:

  • Monday: 8:30 am - 6 pm
  • Tuesday: 8:30 am - 6 pm
  • Wednesday: 8:30 am - 6 pm
  • Thursday: 8:30 am - 6 pm
  • Friday: 8:30 am - 5 pm

Building hours are subject to change based on programming needs (e.g. opening at 8:30 a.m. during summer programs). 

What is the LARPD Foundation? 

It is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that helps Livermore park and recreation activities. Visit the Foundation page for information on donating.

Is LARPD part of the City of Livermore 

Livermore Area Recreation and Park District is an independent special district that is governed by a five-person, elected Board of Directors, each of whom serves a four-year term. Livermore Area Recreation and Park District is not part of the City of Livermore.

The District covers more than 240 square miles, serving more than 115,000 people, and maintains more than 40 parks including dog parks, picnic areas, basketball and tennis courts, playgrounds, sports fields, a BMX course, a skate park and a bicycle stunt course.

How do I get the LARPD Board of Directors to consider my ideas? 

You can contact an LARPD staff member at 925-373-5700 or via email. 

The Board of Directors meets at 5:00 pm on the second and last Wednesday of each month inside the Sycamore Room at the Robert Livermore Community Center, 4444 East Ave. Meeting are open to the public.

Is LARPD part of the City of Livermore or East Bay Regional Park District? 

No, LARPD is an independent special district and was created by the vote of the public in 1947. It has its own five-person Board of Directors that is elected by the citizens.

When does the Activity Guide come out? 

Activity Guides are all 100% online at www.larpd.org/guide. They come out three times a year: late December (Winter/Spring Classes), late March (Summer Camps and Classes), and August (Fall Classes). 

How do I register for a class? 

You can register for a class at www.larpd.org/guide or by calling 925-373-5700.

What is your refund policy on classes/programs? 

If you must cancel your registration, we require notification at least 7 business days before the first meeting of the class.

There is a $12 service charge for canceling. Any cancellation received less than 7 days before the start date will not receive a refund.

How can I become a class instructor? 

If you want to become a class instructor, please contact info@larpd.org, and you'll be directed to the appropriate program supervisor.

Do you offer scholarships for your programs? If so, what program areas? 

Yes, we have scholarships for our Youth and Senior programs. Information and application can be found at www.larpd.org/scholarship.

What are your Café hours? 

Our Café at the Robert Livermore Aquatic Center is open during the summer for recreational swim and on the weekends for special events the rest of the year.

Who do I contact about park issues? 

Please contact 925-373-5700 or email info@larpd.org, and our staff can direct your issue to the appropriate person. 

Can I bring my dog into your facilities? 

Only service dogs are allowed in our facilities. Check out the seven dog parks managed by LARPD at www.larpd.org/dog-parks.

How do I get a Sycamore Grove parking pass? Is it valid at Del Valle Regional Park? 

Please call 925-373-5700 and we can process your information over the phone and mail your pass. Our Sycamore Grove parking pass is not valid at Del Valle Regional Park.

Where can I find information about Camp Shelly? Where is it located? 

You can find out more information about Camp Shelly at www.larpd.org/camp-shelly-at-lake-tahoe. Camp Shelly is located in South Lake Tahoe and is open from mid-June thru Labor Day weekend.

What parks have tot lots?

How do I learn about what’s new with LARPD?

Can anyone go in and use the gymnasium? 

The gymnasium is open during scheduled hours for classes, rentals, and drop-in programs. We do not currently have open gym hours. 

How do I rent a room/facility/sports field/gymnasium?

LARPD Satisfaction Guarantee 

If after attending the first day of your class or camp, you are not completely satisfied, please let us know within 24 hours after the first day of class and we will issue a refund (less $12), provided you attended the first class and were dissatisfied.

We are not liable for a participant who fails to attend class.
