District Master Plan

Shaping the Future of Parks & Recreation in Livermore

What’s Happening

LARPD is developing a Parks & Recreation Master Plan—a strategic blueprint that will guide the growth, maintenance, and enhancement of parks, trails, facilities, and programs over the next 10–20 years.

This Master Plan is more than an update; it’s a community-centered vision for Livermore’s future recreational spaces, helping LARPD define its role as a Regional Park District and prepare for the evolving needs of a growing community.

Why It Matters

  • Establish a clear vision and goals for LARPD’s parks, programs, and facilities.
  • Develop a regional approach to recreation and park management.
  • Respond to changes in housing and community density, planning spaces where people live, gather, and play.
  • Provide a foundation for funding requests, including grant applications or future public support if needed.
  • Ensure parks, trails, and programs remain accessible, inclusive, and enjoyable for everyone.
