The Livermore Area Recreation and Park District (LARPD) is pleased to announce the completion of significant field renovations at William Payne Sports Park, enhancing the playability for young athletes.

The renovations upgraded the infields of two main fields for players aged 10-14. Both fields now feature new sod and improved irrigation systems. Field 1 is configured for 46/60 and 50/70 leagues, while Field 2 supports 50/70 and 60/90 leagues. The upgrades also include new portable mounds and home plates, replacing the old permanent mounds and ensuring proper gameplay distances.

“These upgrades were made to enhance flexibility and player experience,” said LARPD Recreation Supervisor Vicki Wiedenfeld. “With the new irrigation system and portable mounds, we can better accommodate various leagues and maintain William Payne Sports Park as a top choice for youth baseball.”

The new sod has been carefully laid and is now fully rooted and ready for play. The enhanced irrigation system will ensure the fields remain in optimal condition throughout the baseball season.

LARPD is proud to continue improving local recreational facilities to ensure a high-quality playing environment. For information on field rental, please get in touch with sports@larpd.org.
