Lifeguard Training Courses

Want to become an LARPD Lifeguard?
Follow the steps below!
  • LARPD is offering lifeguard training courses specifically for those interested in joining our team.
     
  • Please submit a job application (CLICK HERE). 
     
  • After a successful interview and water competency test, we provide the lifeguard training at no cost. Participation in the course does not guarantee certification or employment. Successful completion of the training is required before moving forward in the hiring process.
     
  • Participants for the LARPD lifeguard position receive certification from StarGuard Elite. If you have a valid American Red Cross Certification, you will need to complete a StarGuard Elite class to be eligible for employment.  
     
  • The LARPD Lifeguard Training Course is licensed through Star Guard Elite. It provides the knowledge and skills to prevent, recognize, and respond to aquatic emergencies and to provide care for breathing and cardiac emergencies, injuries, and sudden illnesses until EMS personnel take over.
     
  • Classes will be held at the Robert Livermore Aquatic Center. Star Guard Elite training provided by LARPD is valid only at LARPD facilities and is non-transferable to non-Star Guard Elite facilities.
