Livermore Unites For Community Service Day on September 7th
The City, LARPD, and LVJUSD are collaborating to promote volunteerism on various projects throughout Livermore.
Livermore, CA - The City of Livermore, Livermore Area Recreation and Park District (LARPD), and Livermore Valley Joint Unified School District (LVJUSD) announce Community Service Day on Saturday, September 7, 2024. This collaborative effort aims to engage the community in volunteerism to enhance and beautify Livermore.
Originally planned for May but postponed due to rain, the city, LARPD and LVJUSD are thrilled to finally host it in September. Community Service Day provides an opportunity for residents to participate in a variety of projects throughout the city including park clean-ups, fence painting, plantings, and beautification efforts. There are opportunities for everyone to contribute, regardless of skill level.
After volunteering at project sites from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m., the day will culminate in a celebratory event at Las Positas College from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., where volunteers and donors will be treated to a Volunteer Opportunities Fair, complimentary lunch, and live entertainment by local band Crawdad Republic. The Volunteer Opportunities Fair allows community members to learn more about local nonprofits and year-round volunteer opportunities.
Community members and businesses are encouraged to get involved by sponsoring the event or participating in the Volunteer Opportunities Fair.
