Sycamore Science Camp is an education-based science program for ages 4-12 designed to engage your child, foster an appreciation for nature, and have FUN!

• Camps run for 4 consecutive weeks.  Themes change for each camp.

Sycamore Science Camp: Afterschool & Homeschool

Session I: Fabulous Fungus

With the wet season in full swing, the park comes alive with one of its most fascinating kingdoms — the fungi! Join us as Science Camp returns in the new year to celebrate all things mushroom. We’ll explore the park in search of these mysterious organisms, dissect and study their forms, take in their earthy scents, and even sample a few edible varieties. Along the way, we’ll uncover the surprising and essential roles fungi play in keeping ecosystems healthy and thriving. 

Session II: Living Wild

Listen to the call of the wild – calling you back home.  Learn all about living with the land: edible plants, fire and shelter, tracking and navigating the landscape.  And as the land takes care of us, how can we best take care of the land?   

Session III: Scientists Around Town

Livermore is home to a wide variety of habitats and plant communities. LARPD manages parks spanning across many of these different ecosystems, and we want to showcase a few of them! Join us at 4 ALL NEW locations for Sycamore Science Camp “Scientists Around Town.” Location details and directions will be sent via email before the first session.
