With the wet season in full swing, the park comes alive with one of its most fascinating kingdoms — the fungi! Join us as Science Camp returns in the new year to celebrate all things mushroom. We’ll explore the park in search of these mysterious organisms, dissect and study their forms, take in their earthy scents, and even sample a few edible varieties. Along the way, we’ll uncover the surprising and essential roles fungi play in keeping ecosystems healthy and thriving.

Livermore is home to a wide variety of habitats and plant communities. LARPD manages parks spanning across many of these different ecosystems, and we want to showcase a few of them! Join us at 4 ALL NEW locations for Sycamore Science Camp “Scientists Around Town.” Meeting locations will be sent via email before the first session.

Sycamore Science Camp |  Fishing Trip to Del Valle 

Open Space Staff

Sycamore Science Camp goes fishing! Learn the ins and outs of catch and release fishing, including the parts of a rod and reel, casting, and tying knots.  All fishing equipment provided.   Caregivers and siblings are welcome; equipment is provided only for registered attendees.

Meeting information will be sent via email the week before. 

• Parking fee of $5 per vehicle. 
• Individuals 16 and older are required to have a California State Fishing License and an EBRPD one-day Fishing Access Permit.
