New Wellness Series to Support Adult Health and Balance

LIVERMORE, CA — The Livermore Area Recreation and Park District (LARPD) is rolling out a new lineup of adult wellness and fitness classes this summer, designed to help community members feel better in both body and mind—as the pace of daily life continues to accelerate.
The expanded offerings include upbeat outdoor workouts, deeply restorative experiences, plus additional yoga classes that complement LARPD’s existing lineup. These classes are designed to support overall wellness by helping participants increase flexibility, build strength, and create space for calm in accessible and engaging ways.
Among the new additions is Zumba on the Pool Deck, a high-energy cardio workout set to Latin rhythms and held outdoors at the Robert Livermore Aquatic Center. A free trial class is scheduled for Tuesday, July 29 from 6–7 PM, giving participants a chance to try it before the full session in August.
For those seeking a more meditative experience, Meditative Sound Journeys and Floating Sound Baths led by Coastal Verve Sound offer an opportunity to relax and reset through the healing power of live instruments like crystal singing bowls, drums, and flutes.
LARPD is also welcoming new yoga instructor Niveditha Gurram to teach two alignment-based yoga classes: Morning Yoga on Tuesdays and Yoga for Everyone on Thursday evenings. Both classes emphasize mindful movement, longer-held poses, and the use of props to support the body and deepen the practice—making them well-suited for beginners, experienced practitioners, and those recovering from injuries.
“We’re excited to bring in more options that support wellness in different ways,” said Vicki Wiedenfeld, Recreation Supervisor at LARPD. “Some people want to move and sweat, others want to rest and recharge—and a lot of us need a little of both. These classes are about showing up as you are and finding what feels good.”
All classes are held at the Robert Livermore Community Center and Aquatic Center. For details, schedules, or to register, visit www.larpd.org/guide.
